The Jervenbag King Size – Mountain Camo

The Jerven Bag Thermo King Size is a windproof, waterproof and versatile shelter for hunters, nature watchers and photographers. Primarily designed as a protective poncho for use when hunting, the Jerven Bag is equally suited as a windsack when sitting outdoors, a rain cover for you and your rucksack when hiking, an emergency tarp-style shelter, or a sleeping bag cover. Jerven have produced a number of different models of their Jerven Bag or ‘Fjellduken’ as it is known locally, including the Extreme, Original and Hunter. This, the King Size Jerven Bag, is the largest of all four models, measuring a spacious 143 x 220 cm. As such, the King Size can be used by one or two people, and is generally the model of choice for users over 6′ 2″ and weighing more than 15 stone. Due to its size, the King Size model is arguably the most useful Jerven Bag, allowing the wearer to really stretch out and rest, all the while being kept warm and dry. As such, it is best suited for the hunter, fisherman, hiker or outdoorsman for whom comfort is paramount.

A key feature of the King Size model is an insulative filling of 60 g Primaloft padding. This blend of ultra-fine microfibres helps to trap and retain the wearer’s body heat while letting cold air escape. Primaloft is warmer, drier, softer and more compressible than any other synthetic insulation, making the
Hunter Bag extremely comfortable to wear. The wind and waterproof outer is adorned with a complex mountain camouflage pattern, helping the wearer to blend in with a variety of environments while keeping them protected from the elements.

Primaloft is a blend of ultra-fine microfibres which help to trap and retain the wearer’s body heat while letting cold air escape. Primaloft is warmer, drier, softer and more compressible than any other synthetic insulation, making the Jerven Bag Extreme very comfortable to use.

The Jerven Bag features zips around three edges, allowing you to adjust its shape as per the desired usage. Made from polyester, it features an aluminium coating which helps to reflect body heat back to the wearer, much in the same way as a survival bag works. A pair of 3/4 length sleeves are included, which can be attached or detached as you wish.

For over 30 years, Jerven AS have supplied their specially created Fjellduken protective tarp to the Norwegian Armed Forces. In 2004 alone, Jerven delivered around 7,000 Jerven Bags to various Norwegian military divisions, and now also supply French, Danish, Swiss and British special forces.
